SBI PO Syllabus 2015 Download For Pre & Main Exam Syllabus & Exam Pattern



SBI PO Syllabus 2015
State Bank of India is going to conduct SBI PO 2015 examination for the search talented and eligible candidates in the month of June 2015. This examination will be conduct in three phases for the selection of Probationary Officer posts.
Now we are providing the complete syllabus for this examination.
The Phase 1 was started from this years to eliminate unnecessary competition. The main exam will be held in Phase 2 known as descriptive paper. The final phase will be organized as group discussion.

SBI PO Exam pattern (latest):
Phase-I: this will be Preliminary Examination which will have 100 marks Objective type’s questions. This phase will have 1 hour time duration having three sections.

Phase – II: the second phase will be Main Examination having 200 marks Objective question and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both examinations will be held by online medium.
(i) Objective Test: this Test of will have 2 hour duration. In this test there will be 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200 marks). This test will have following section.
a) Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing &Computers
c) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)

The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test: there will be 1 hour duration in this examination. There will be 50 marks Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

Phase – III: Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
shortlisted candidates from the phase 1 and phase 2 will be called for Group Discussion and Interview by the SBI administration.

Qualifying requirement:
The Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will only be conducted for eliminate unnecessary competition.  Selection will be based only on the Main Examination (Phase-II) and GD & Interview (Phase-III).
This is the syllabus of SBI PO 2015 exam officially provided by SBI. Those candidates who want to qualify this test should prepare as per the syllabus given above.


SBI PO Syllabus 2015:
1. English Language:
This section will have questions regarding following topics.
1. Reading Comprehension (10+10) - Moderate to difficult - It takes lot of time to find answers from these.
2. Jumbled Sentences (5) - Moderate - Practice is the key to these types of questions.
3. Close Passages (10) - Moderate
4. Errors Correction (15) - Easy to Moderate - You need to know all the English grammar rules to get better marks from these questions.


2. SBI PO Syllabus of Reasoning Section:
This section will have high level problems.
1. Input – output (machine coding and decoding) (5) - Difficult
2. Sentence coding (5) - easy to moderate
3. Logical Reasoning (15) - Moderate
4. Syllogism (5) - Moderate
5. Puzzle / Seating Arrangement  (10) - Difficult - Time consuming questions
6. Data Sufficiency (5) - Moderate level
7. Directions etc. (5) - easy

3. General Awareness + Marketing Awareness + Computer:
This section will have problems regarding mentioned topics.
1. Current Affairs (15) - easy to moderate
2. Banking Awareness (15) - easy
3. Computer Awareness (10) - easy
4. Marketing (10) - easy to mod.

4. Data Analysis & Interpretation: 
This section will consist questions based on the given topics.
1. Line graphs (5) - easy
2. Bar chart (15) - easy to moderate
3. Pie chart (10) - moderate - difficult
4. Tables (15) - mod.-diff.
5. Probability (5) - Easy-moderate
are asked.

Descriptive Test:
1.       Letter (10)-Questions on saving account, net banking, and education loan etc.
2.       Paragraph (8)-Rural Banking, Impact of autonomy
3.       Precise Writing (10)-Chief Vigilance Officer
4.       Reading Comprehension (10)- ATM and its uses
5.       Essay Writing (12)-Technology, Right to education act, Financial Inclusion
6.       Descriptive test is of qualifying nature. Candidates have to secure passing marks.  It is tested of those candidates who qualify in objective test.
7.       SBI PO Syllabus 2015 - Phase 3: Group discussion and Interview
8.       Group discussion will carry 20 marks and interview will be of 30 marks. The candidates who qualify in both tests will be called for group discussion and interview.
9.       SBI PO Final Selection will be based on marks scored in the written test, group discussion and interview.
